July Wrap-Up
New Program
Hope Harbor is presenting our 1st annual back-to-school program. Our Children’s Program Coordinator, Kelsey, was inspired to create the program for the children residing in our shelter. She believes that each child deserves to be prepared with all the necessary school supplies to start the school year. Thus, A Hopeful Start, was born.
The program is designed to match each child with a sponsor in the community. Each sponsor will receive a school supply shopping list for the child they are matched with. The children have also filled out forms indicating their age, school grade, gender, and favorites, such as, color, animal, and character. This will allow the sponsor to better purchase items the child will enjoy!
To ensure equality among the children, we ask that donors aim to spend $50 per child.
Deadlines:
Sign up to sponsor a child(ren) by Monday, August 7th.
Bring purchased school supplies for your sponsored child(ren) no later than 4:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9th.
Thank you for giving our children, A Hopeful Start.

Harbies
Harbies is our monthly staff get together, where we hold a potluck and spend the hour talking, playing games, and other fun for team bonding and to reduce stress.
July’s theme was Summertime Barbie Bash! We brought chips and dip, ice cream, cookies, cake, and more. We played board games and did some fun dares!
The highlight of the event was that Subway catered our meal! They donated two dozen cookies and two party platters! They also are hosting donation drives at their locations for Hope Harbor.
Thank you!
