Why Support Hope Expanding? 

Our programs provide a firm foundation to help individuals and families achieve and maintain self-sufficiency. We provide education that leads to better decisions and improved self-confidence, as well as job skills training and referrals. We assist with budgeting and financial management techniques, and teach stronger interpersonal skills to promote a healthier lifestyle.

Hope Harbor's quality and success rate are highly regarded among other regional homeless shelters and human service agencies. 

We are exceptionally prudent with our funds because we know they're gifted from people with hearts for our mission. Our frugality, for example, allowed us to pay off our mortgage several years in advance. Due to the long-term generosity of our community, we are also able to pledge $100,000 of our operating reserves to the Hope Expanding Capital Campaign. 

Members of the Hope Harbor board of directors are passionate and engaged, with many serving multiple terms. The diversity of our board includes members of healthcare, legal, financial, marketing, human resources, and business professions. In addition, our staff is highly experienced in delivering life-changing services. 

In 2013 alone, 565 volunteers helped with facility maintenance, sorting donations, tracking classes and so much more. Their efforts saved us an equivalent of $120,000.

The people we serve have undergone significant trauma before coming to us. Many feel vulnerable and alone, and are in need of a friendly person who cares. That's why we treat every person we serve with dignity and respect. Our approach demonstrates there is indeed a ray of hope in the saddest situation. That's what Hope Harbor is all about.
