Jennifer: Against odds
My name is Jennifer. I have been a resident at Hope Harbor since January 19, 2009. I was brought to Hope Harbor because I got into trouble with the law. I was involved with drugs and my life was going down hill. In June of 2008 I got accepted into drug court. I went to treatment for 30 days and have been clean for 11 months now.
I came to Hope Harbor for more structure and to help with my financial problems. Since I have come to Hope Harbor I have been able to pay off fines and my vehicle. I am getting drug court fines and restitution paid off. If I hadn’t come here I would never have been able to pay off these debts.
I also am working towards getting my GED. Hope Harbor also helps me with that because when I can’t make it to school; they have the things here for me to receive credit. If I wouldn’t have taken the opportunity to come stay at Hope Harbor I wouldn’t be where I am today.
